InstantSlideUp v2 on IE8 - Getting a Fix?
Rob;
I've read http://help.instantsifu.com/discussions/instantslideup/58-ie-issue-... but that's not a fix for us, we have installed and will be installing ISU's on a number of sites and cannot dedicate time to re-coding sites from HTML to XHTML. I notice that thread was back in March, do you have a fix yet, a fix to the ISU software that will let it work in IE8 in HTML DOCTYPE yet?
Here's a current installation of ISU v2 that used to be fine
until I created and installed a new created slideup. It didn't work
right (as described at the link above for description and link
below for live example) so I reverted back to the old one (which is
also ISU v2 and not working right):

Also, ISU 2 seems to be working in IE8 on this page just fine:

Hi webmaster
the issue is merely due to having the DOC type declaration. Hence it should work fine.
thanks
Rob

Hey Rob;
Sorry, just some clarification...
It seems you have said in a previous post -
http://help.instantsifu.com/discussions/instantslideup/58-ie-issue-isu-not-sliding-up-
that the DOCTYPE must be XHTML. Is that correct?
If it is supposed to only work in IE with DOCTYPE of XHTML, then its
difficult to understand why it also works with HTML 4.01 Transitional on
this site:
http://www.findyourcharleston.com/
I need to be persistent with this and come to you for your knowledge in this
area because its your area of expertise and I don't have time to re-code
entire sites like www.southcarolinacondoliving.com where it doesn't work
right.
Thanks for your patience wit this issue.

Hi George
As long as you declare a doc type in your HTML, Instantslideup should work fine. We do not restrict it to be either HTML or xHTML
thanks
Rob

Great, we've got a DOCTYPE on each page of
http://www.southcarolinacondoliving.com/.... Do you have any idea why it
would not be working then?
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN">
